This tutorial gives detailed instruction on how to make a complex pansy cane. You should be familiar with Skinner Blends and have some good working knowledge of caning before attempting this tutorial. The tutorial describes how to make a yellow/purple or a yellow/maroon pansy cane, though I invite folks to try pink/navy or a monochromatic variate with light and dark greens.
I have broken down the tutorial into 7 basic steps - such as making the skinner plugs or making each petal, but there are several sub-steps that make up each basic step. Each is documented with 40 illustrations and is 8 pages long. I look forward to seeing all your creations! Thank you!
Materials List: white polymer clay - approx 3 blocks yellow polymer clay - 1 block purple or maroon polymer clay - 1-2 blocks (Alizarin Crimson works well) gold polymer clay - 1/4 block (or any other center color of your choice)
Tools: Pasta Machine, Straight Blade, Acrylic roller or brayer, a wire, pin or small knitting needle, ruler or graduated work surface (such as a self-healing quilter's mat)
