Easy Star CaneThere are many tutorials out there to make stars. With this tutorial you can make any star or really any shape at all with what I refer to as “subtraction” caning – you cut away clay from a solid plug to create the image in the cane. It’s a very easy cane and the techniques you use can also be used to layer patterned plugs into other canes as well. Also – though I explain using a 2” base, you can literally make your cane any size. Have fun!!

Layered Chevron VeneerThis tutorial is to make a multi-colored chevron style pattern from layered clay. It is a relatively simple process and the results vary depending on the thickness of the layers of clay and the colors used. Thinner layers of clay will give a finer chevron pattern with more color variation – larger layers give more definition of the individual colors. Or try varying the width for effect!

Hope you find this useful!
