This tutorial gives detailed instructions on how to make a Palm cane. The techniques involve some skill in cane making and cane reduction. The steps involved are basic, so if you're a quick study it might be a pleasant challenge. The tutorial is broken down into 15 basic steps, but there are lots of sub-steps in each basic step. The whole process is illustrated with 39 photos. Enjoy!
Materials:
Polymer Clay – tan (1 block), brown (1 block), black (<1 block), green (2 blocks), white (1 block) & translucent (2-3 blocks, a firmer clay such as Kato is recommended for best results)
Tools:
Pasta Machine
Straight Blade
Large & Small Wavy Clay Blades (I used the blades from the Sculpey Super Slicer Set)
Acrylic roller or brayer
ruler or graduated work surface (such as a self-healing quilter's mat)
